Getting Rid Of Pop-Up Windows

Sometimes when you visit a site another window opens with an advertisement. Annoying. Some people recommend disabling the JavaScript option in the browser but that stops other things you want from working. The best solution I've found so far is Pop This! It's free, easy to use, well-designed, and integrates with your browser. POW! from Analog-X is another option, although requires you to give it some attention each time a new advert comes up.. Analog-X also makes other quality programs.

Here are some others you could try (I haven't tried these yet myself):

• Google Toolbar Version 2 with pop-up blocker.
• Surf In Peace (SIP) is another free one.
• The Guidescope service: appears on your desktop in a small window. "It works with your browser to help you surf the Web faster, safer, and easier by blocking ads and by providing one-click access to navigation and information tools. " (free)
• Pop-Up Stopper v3.01
