Working with Simple Graphics
Adding Clip Art
PowerPoint allows you to add images called Clip Art into your presentations.
To do so:
- Insert your cursor where you want the image
to go.
- Go to the Insert menu and choose Picture
and then Clip Art
- In the window that comes up, browse to the
picture you want and click on it once.
- In the small pop up window that comes up,
click on the top icon to insert the picture in your slide.
You can bring in your own images into the PowerPoint Clip Art library,
or bring some more Clip Art in from the Microsoft site by going
to the Insert menu, choosing Picture > Clip
Art and in the window that comes up clicking on the appropriate
button at the top: .
However, this will only import it into the Clip Art collection,
and not into your slide. You'll have to repeat the above step 4
again to then insert it into your slide.
Adding Video
To add video, Go to the Insert menu and choose Movies and Sound.
You will see two choices: Movie from Gallery and
Movie from File. The first choice allows you to
choose animations from the library that comes with PowerPoint (there
aren't many). The second choice allows you to browse and select
your own video clip.
