2) Practical Lessons on Delivery of Distance Learning: Do's and Don'ts

For some faculty, they don't really want to know all the pro's and con's of distance learning. Rather, they just want know how to get started. This paper provides a quick overview of some of the lessons gleaned from distance learning research and some simple do's and don'ts, including use appropriate media, properly test course materials, and remember that teaching online will take more time than you think. Don't use technology for technology's sake, forget the personal touch, and expect that once you've developed the course your work for the next semester is over. (1998)
